The Journey of Hope
A few years ago, an organization working to rescue street children invited me to help organize their books of accounts. It was supposed to be a short-term assignment—but God had other plans.
As I spent time with their outreach team on the streets of Nairobi, I was confronted with stories that broke my heart and stirred my spirit. We met children and youth whose lives had been shattered by circumstances beyond their control—some orphaned, others abandoned, and many struggling daily just to survive.
What began as accounting work turned into something deeply personal. I found myself not just crunching numbers, but walking the streets, sharing meals, listening to stories, and praying with those society had forgotten. I saw pain, but I also saw possibility. I met young men and women who, despite everything, still carried a spark of hope—and I couldn’t turn away.
Among our team were individuals who themselves had once lived on the streets. Their stories of transformation—of finding faith, purpose, and restoration—were living proof that change is possible. Inspired by their courage, I knew I wanted to be part of that story of hope in a bigger way.
